Raised more than 700,000 baht for temple restoration

The Kathin ceremony is an important tradition in Buddhism, signifying merit-making and temple restoration, especially during the Kathin festival held in the 11th month of the lunar calendar every year. This tradition originated from the time of the Buddha, with the purpose of supporting and assisting monks in obtaining the Kathin robe to cover their bodies, an essential item for their monastic life.

In 2024, Wat Pa Hoy in Prachinburi province organized the Kathin ceremony, presided over by Dr. Thanat Chieocharn-akson. This year’s ceremony saw the collaboration of many Buddhists who came together to make merit, successfully raising more than 700,000 baht for the temple’s restoration. The funds raised will be used to improve and develop the facilities within the temple.

The Kathin ceremony is not only a form of merit-making but also an opportunity for the community to come together to strengthen good relationships among its members and foster cooperation in supporting religious activities. This event is considered a crucial part of preserving and continuing Thailand’s fine cultural traditions.

Thanks to the dedication and commitment of Dr. Thanat Chieocharn-akson, who served as the main driving force in organizing this year’s event, the Kathin ceremony at Wat Pa Hoy was conducted meaningfully and achieved great success. This aims to promote the sustainable development of the temple and support the monks in their ongoing religious activities.
